Located in the grounds of Haygarth House we have put together a very special morning for anyone interested in horse racing – a fun and entertaining morning including breakfast, a trip to the gallops and an informative stable tour with leading trainer Scott Dixon.
Scott has made a fine start to his training career, which started in December 2011, following spells under the guidance of Mark Polglase, Jeremy Glover, Alan McCabe and David Nicholls.
The yard continues to flourish and inmates such as Sir Geoffrey and Incomparable continue to find the winners' enclosure on a regular basis.
Other stable stars include Cock of the North, Even Stevens, Cadeaux Pearl and Dr Red Eye.
The yard has enjoyed plenty of winners on the all-weather at local track Southwell, but has also tasted victory at courses such as Epsom, Ascot, Doncaster and Chester.
Fridays and Saturdays (available January to December inclusive)
Start time: 8am (three-hour tour)
The fun starts the moment you arrive at Haygarth House.
Scott will take you on foot or drive you to the gallops to watch the string being put through their paces at first hand.
Then it's time for a winning breakfast (guaranteed to set you up for the day) with Scott and a chance to ask him about the workings of a racing yard and hear tales 'from the horse's mouth' from his career in the Sport of Kings.
Next it is back to the stables and enjoy an informative tour of the yard to gain an insiders' view to some of the equine stars 'looking over the doors' with Scott.
