Pardubice-born Jan Faltejsek, who rode Orphee des Blins to a runaway 16-length victory in this year's Velka Pardubicka, will again be our guest speaker at next year's exclusive pre-race reception.

Orphee des Blins, trained by Greg Wroblewski, belied her odds of 55:1 when she ran out a facile winner under a bold front-running display at Pardubice.

Faltejsek speaking exclusively to www.cdhorseracingtours.com said: "Orphee des Blins made it so easy for me, she was clever throughout the race and her jumping was key to the win. All the way round she was spot-on with the fences and I was a little bit worried at times because I thought maybe we'd taken the wrong course way because I couldn't hear any other horses during parts of the race!

"She is used to front-running and and it's nothing new for her to make the pace in her races, she just kept on galloping for me and I thought I should pull her back for a breather, but even when I did no-one else seemed to be able to close the gap on us. 

"I must thank Greg (Wroblewski) for giving me firstly the opportunity and secondly he is one who put in all the hard work and preparations to make it easy for me to win on Orphee des Blins.

"I was told the news about a month ago that I had the ride and schooled Orphee des Blins once during the build-up to the Velka Pardubicka, then I sat on her on the morning of the race and that has been it really.

"I've spoken to Greg since the win and Orphee des Blins has taken the race well and she is fine, in fact she's bouncing and has eaten all her food. There is perhaps maybe a small idea to travel to Cheltenham for the cross country race (Glenfarclas Cros Country Chase) in November, but no decision has yet been made and the snow will soon arrive in the Czech Republic and if she doesn't go to Cheltenham that will be it for her this year," Faltejsek concluded.

If Orphee des Blins doesn't take up her possible Cheltenham engagement, Faltejsek, who was previously attached to George Charlton's yard, hopes he might get the chance to strike-up his partnership with chaser Knockara Beau again in the UK.

The 29-year-old Faltejsek said: "It would be a fantastic honour to ride Knockara Beau. He is a very, very good horse and has given me some great moments over the years. I think he's a great chaser and will win a big prize soon."
