Brendan Powell has revealed Dark Emerald will have one more run in Dubai before he returns home to a hero's reception at Newlands.
The five-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic time at Meydan racecourse this winter, finishing second in his first race (Mina Rashid Handicap), then following that up with a superb victory in the Nova Stakes.
His two runs in the Dubai World Cup Carnival has so far netted in excess of £68,000 in prize money for connections.
Powell speaking to www.cdhorseracingtours.com said: "It's been amazing, big time, for a yard like ours it really is something very special.
"There are 50 European horses out there trying to win and to be one of only two so far to have managed it is fantastic.
"Dark Emerald's next race will be on (Thursday) February 19, over seven furlongs on the turf again at Meydan.
"Then he'll travel home on (Tuesday) March 3, we've entered him in the Lincoln Handicap, but he'll be plenty high enough in the weights for that. There is also a Listed race at Doncaster to consider," he concluded.
