Brendan Powell will be hoping to ride as well as train the winner of this year's Jump Legends charity race at Chepstow.
Powell, who rode almost 700 winners in Britain during his time in the saddle, will line-up also with fellow former weighing room jockeys including Adrian Maguire, Jim Culloty, Christian Williams, Carl Llewellyn, Brendan Powell, Graham Bradley and Jimmy Frost.
The Newlands Stables handler will give himself the leg-up on the yard's nine-year-old Morestead at 1.30pm, in a race which aims to raise money for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust and Tenovus, the Cardiff-based cancer charity.
Powell told www.cdhorseracingtours.com: " I'm really looking forward to riding Morestead, who I know will give me a nice spin and it should be good fun.
"I'm realy grateful to all those who have kindly sponsored me for the race, the plan is to be up with the leaders for the first four furlongs - then we'll take it from there really.
"I'm certainly fitter than I was last year when I took part and I have managed to ride out eight to 10 times. I'll still need a very small saddle, but that certainly won't stop me from missing my evening meal on Friday," Powell quipped.
